I am surprised by the souvenir table. During the Sixties the shaykhs forbad representational carving like the camels, so that, if they were available at all, they would not have been on display. I have seen modern combs and aagaanno, but all the barkin I ever saw were old. Do the geeljire still wear long hair and a barkin on their left wrist? The long hair I saw recently in a video of a traditional dance in Hargeisa was all wigs!
