Great documentary on China's dealings in Africa

Post by *Nobleman* »

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... Episode_1/

When will Africa stand up against all these people tryna exploit them . Chinese dealing are like a second coming of african conolization.

Disgraceful. Sometimes is better to live in squalor and war, but at least your free and own your own resources on your own land.

Yeah, I saw it and I agree. I don't think the chinese are good for africa. Lakiin, did you notice that the programme was a bit anti-chinese, at one point it almost stopped being a documentary and more western propaganda. But something that doesn't change is the braindead africans there to be exploited whether it's by europeans or asians.

Chinese want to help build africa, buy causing the africa to borrow from them. They've actually given out more money than the world bank this year in Africa. This is a three prong attack I believe, one is to cause the africans to take their reserve capitol and return with interest, two to flood africa with cheap chinese goods, and three to take africa's mineral and natural resources for chinese companies.

The chinese have build thousands of road and infrastructure and supplied doctors, teaching etc freely in exchange for natural recources. Something the west cannot afford.
In essence the Chinese are giving the Africans a brighter, more productive future for the nation. It's is not interfering with the politics like the Europeans did either.

At the rate it is going Africa will be colonized again..Even now every country is a colony for one of the civilized countries..Why??? Because of greed..Greed and greed... So far in all of Somalis.. the only man that I am sure is not greedy and is not a thug is Engineer Maxamed Xaashi Cilmi...He does not steal a penny :rose: :rose: But when the so called officials in every where are trying to loot and build castles outside the country and live lavish and silly lives inside the country at the expense of their people and country...you will be owned and that is the case sadly.... China or any other country will own you...
At least China used to be corrput free..but nowdays you never know...

Problem Africa wide is that these foreign companies deal with the one influential person. This person often lacks iman and love for his country and is literally willing to sell his soul for riches

Don't listen to European propaganda, they trying to keep china out of Africa. China doesn't have agenda when doing business with Africa, now Europeans only make business deal with their puppets, and punish those countries that are independent from them, like Muslim countries or countries that don't practice democracy.

Take any Western media talk about China and Africa with a pinch of salt. You have to realize I went to three African countries that have seen some of the highest level of Chinese involvement. We went there to analyze the development of Africa.

I used to think the way you thought above. Unlike Europe, China doesn't send welfare dependency aid. China sends economic capital that results in less money to governments and more actual investment that employs the Africans and helps get their economies going.

One South African minister spoke to us as AMERICAN college students and told us China is the best thing to happen to Africa. They really value China up there because China brings capital to actual development projects unlike welfare dependency which Europe wanted to keep Africa in. I can't help but go by their viewpoint.

For forty years, Africa was stagnant economically. But as soon as China became their primary trading partner, Africa is the fastest growing continent in the world? It is a complex argument about welfare aid (Europe) vs. investment capital (China).

Sure China is acting in self-interest, every nation acts in self-interest. But China's interest IS a strong African market. That is not the West's interest. The West already exports to markets all over the world. For them, Africa's markets are not important..what matter to West is their mineral wealth. China also cares about Africa's mineral wealth, but China uses it to export products back to Africa so China also desires strong African markets. China is today Africa's largest trading partner (replaced US four years ago) because it is in China's interest to see a strong vibrant African middle class and strong African consumers, able to buy, so it can export to them.

Basically China has stakes invested in Africa while Europe does not, which is why Africa's move towards economic self-sufficiency is important to China while it is not to Europe which means China will also act in the self-interest of the Africans while Europe does not. This is why the West gives aid and takes minerals, but China invests in Africa while taking minerals.

At the end of the day, Africa is going to get shafted for its minerals in the present the only difference is will it be going to towards self-sufficiency at the same time (with China) or keep going on the failed economic path only allowed to them by Europe. If you are going to be in servitude, you might as well be working towards freedom.
