Don't say I haven't told you so! The natives are striking back as I predicted. Darood refugees in the Jubbas better go back to their homelands otherwise you'll meet the same ill-fate that met you mere 17 years prior.
NoAngst,
Wasn't it Xamar residents who were recently doing tribal dances of celebration for Cabdullahi Yusuf the " Oday Darood oo Ciyaal Suuq Ah"
Don't worry about the Jubbas (which is heaven compared to Xamar) and worry about the miserable situation of Xamar.
Of all people you shouldn't be talking b/c you have endured the worst of the worst............
what started 17 yrs. ago has been constantly inflicted upon Xamar again and again........wasn't it just a few months ago 300,000+ Xamar residents were evicted from their homes.
I consider anybody who left Xamar '91 or before pretty lucky.
GedoBoy, All I'm saying is one should learn from history. History has tendency to repeat itself if one doesn't amend his old ways. Darood with all their weapons and money criminally accrued during their occupation of Xamar eventually lost to the natives. Later Hawiye and Darood forces occupying the peaceful Raxahweyn people of Bay and Bakool lost. Hawiye occupying other Hawiye as in Hiraan or Banaadir lost. In the end justice prevailed, as Gandhi said Justice always prevails in the end, it may take time but it will prevail. So daroods being refugees in the Jubbas (not all but the vast majority) are better advised to leave before the natives rise up and overthrow the yoke of darood colonization of their land. If you're mareexaan parts of Gedo and Galgaduud will more than suffice as your homeland, don't waste your resources on ill-fated adventures of conquest and displacement. It may have worked 100 years ago but not anymore. People are empowered nowadays.
About the destruction of Xamar, it wasn't Hawiye that destroyed Xamar it was Darood and their cousins Mugdi Mudug. Mudulood and other local hawiyes like MuruSADE made up the majority of Xamar before the war. It was their HOMELAND. Following the maxim "no one destroys his own home" Hawiye didn't destroy their OWN homes. It was first daroods who trained their artillary on Hawiye neighbourhoods for a whole month and then Mugdi Mudug swept behind leaving everything in ruin and devastation. You should get your facts straight
But even with all the destruction and lawlessness, Hawiyes are still #1 in all of Somalia. Muduloods are the richest with highest per capita income in Banadir and even in Sh. Dhexe and Galgaduud Hawiyes are doing better than most darood lands. Darood are truly grasping at straws.
