Abdi

i always try to fit in to my environment.
i have tried the Suuq bakaara look and it did not work for me.

i observed what all the faaraxs were wearing and i copied it.

Loose pants, that come up a bit short.
loose long sleeve shirt not tucked in and of a conservative colour or design.

and leather sandals.

the thing is everyone knew i was from qurbo even before i opened my mouth.
maybe its the way i walk?

Gurey,

Maybe you were a tad bit on the heavier side or just had the "SHINE" i.e. lacked the gaajo, stressed look of the average Somali in Africa. Laughing

NO. I think looks matter more. Come on, you can change his style, besides I think the raggedy look is hot, provided he takes personal hygiene very seriously...

like always somali women live in LA-LA land. Watching a lot of soap opera and Hollywood grammy award nights and comparing how men's in the movies dress to poor Somali refugee men's dress is not only unfair but unrealistic also.
What does it take that Somali women take Somali men as "As they are"--just savage Farahs who are lost in western woods?. Somali women always want to lifestyle beyond their means.

If you girls want to live great lifestyle then here are something to keep in mind.
A) Don't populate planet earth with bunch babies. It is only Somali women who want to have 9 kids.
B) Go to school and get a good job because average Farah can't afford to pay your lifestyle.
C) Think and use your freaking brain. And please try to grow some brain cells, for God sake.
D) Please take parenting classes because what your mothers taught you in parenting are not valid any more.

I think I am not being fair. Am I?. what someone wears should be the last thing one chooses his future spouse or someone to date. There are hippies, Gethos, Punks, and all weird freaks in western world and believe me these freak get laid on daily basis. In fact, the more freak looking one is in dress wise, the more that person can get laid.

Having said that I think Ismahen scored some points here. Of course tall and handsome men who dresses like Jesus, wears weird outdate dress, would be way better than ugly but good-faced focker who dresses like casanova.

A well dressed man is a feast for the eyes but if his face is hurtin than there's nothing that can balance it out, so to speak Laughing
