Old somali warlords start to carve up somalia before ethio l

Postby galia » Sat Aug 04, 2007 6:18 am

Thanks to the stupid TFG stooges and AY, those old evil warlords are getting power back and re-taking the cities that they lost to the islamic courts, before ethiopia starts to leave they wana make sure that the warlords are back in power.

It seems that the real mission of ethiopia was to stop the somali's uniting under the courts and bring back power to the hated warlords.

BELETWEIN, Somalia Aug 3 (Garowe Online) - Residents in the central Somali town of Beletwein, 300km north of Mogadishu, were concerned today that armed conflict might erupt in the region between the old governor of Hiran and the newly-appointed governor, Yusuf "Daboged" Ahmed.

Yusuf Daboged, TFG-appointed governor of Hiran region
Daboged, backed by an unknown number of troops and armored trucks, arrived in the southern Hiran district of Jalalaksi on Thursday, where he was received by district officials and loyal gunmen, sources said.

He departed from Mogadishu after President Abdullahi Yusuf renamed him to the post of Hiran governor in July. Daboged was appointed governor of Hiran by Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi in 2006 but he was expelled from the region's capital, Beletwein, by the Islamic Cours militia last August.

Like fellow warlords, Daboged was returned to power by the Ethiopian army as they swept through town-after-town dismantling the Islamist militia.

The old governor of Hiran, Hussein Moallim, told local reporters last week that he is the "legitimate governor" of Hiran region and has refused to step down.

In Jalalaksi, Dabaged said he will resort all issues peacefully and will personally talk with former Governor Moallim when he reaches Beletwein.

Beletwein residents said forces loyal to the competing governors have been active in the city over the past two weeks and seem to be preparing for a showdown.

There are around 1,000 Ethiopian troops in a military camp roughly 15km east of Beletwein. The Ethiopians were accused of indiscriminately shelling Beletwein neighborhoods and killing innocent civilians earlier this week. [ Full story]
