They could've easily said "Maakhir" if they were really talking about Warsangelis in that sentence...

85% of Warseangeli income comes from Bossaso and Bossaso is run by Royal Cismaan Maxamud. Makhir should stop claiming Cisman Maxmud income. If you all told to fck back to las Qoray or barren Ceerigabo, you would put darfoor district to shame and thats an understatement. Cool Laughing

Somali2003, you'll have a hard time arguing that it's a reference to the Giglies instead of the Majeerteen.

The stereotype that every Majeerteen is loaded with money, cirka kama soo degin. Cool We are a wealthy clan since time immemorial.

MJpride, the cismaan moxamoud are way way behind in Bosaaso. They even fall behind the Dishiishe and CaliSaleeban, whom when all of them are combined do not even make 1/3 of Bosaaso's business population.

Western Bari is known to be a predominantly Warsangeli territory. Look this Iidoor/Gadbuursi guy who is ascertaining the fact that the NSPU runners hail from Western Bari does not necessarily mean that they are from the British Somaliland. He takes Hirad as case in Point. Laughing

"The majority of NSPU members hail from Bosaaso and the western part of Bari region, but having tribal lineage with some Somaliland sub clans does not give them the right to define their team as a grassroot Sool and Sanaag movement."

"The northern Somali oil-rich autonomous region of Maakhir declared its independence on 1 July 2007. Like neighbouring Puntland -- the stronghold of President Youssef -- it is an economically thriving region with standards of living much higher than the average for Somalia as a whole -- per capita income is $1,600 in Puntland, compared with $600 in the rest of Somalia. Remittances from overseas Somalis are also helping to rebuild the northern autonomous regions of Puntland and Maakhir. Brisk trade with Gulf Arab countries has contributed to rapid economic growth in the northern parts of the country.''

This paragraph is clearly describing Maakhir State and comparing ''it" to Puntland. Maakhir, the "disputed territory" feel under puntland not to long ago, so data collected for standard of living in PL would be similar in this region if not greater. Yes the per capita here for PL is $1,600 whose arguing over whats the Warsangeli part, but the Warsangeli part known as "Maakhir" was noted as being "The northern Somali oil-rich autonomous region". Cool

MJpride, don't force me to post the Per Capita income of Mudug and Nugaal. They are so dismal and hard to believe.

"Overlooking the shoreline is an invariably lush, green and fertile northern slope of the Golis Range Mountain, known to the locals as Cal Madow, which has for millennia provided for the produce of frankincense among many other potentially high value crops. With a plateau stretching from the bottom of the southern slope of the mountain to the northern banks of the Nugal valley to the south, which is good for grazing and all-season livestock rearing, the area has for the centuries past remained self-supporting and independent. In addition to a great potential for infrastructure and tourism development, the area has been a candidate for mineral, gas and petroleum exploration. It is a known fact that the American Petroleum Company, Elf, had conducted offshore oil exploration in the mid eighties. In the last couple of years the government of Puntland signed deals with an Australian conglomerate for mineral exploration, which sparked the famous Mija Yahan skirmishes between the community and some government troops, resulting in the death of about 10 persons."

I LOVE MAAKHIR STATE. GOD IS BLESSED US WITH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY.
