lol

about the article....the Shari'a law can bring lots of positive changes to this country and is doing it already, in terms of mediating between people. even thou at the moment it's mainly concerned with families especaialy marriages and divorces, and the more people get to know and understand the depth of Islamic justice the more they'll be more inclined to try it.

the craziest thing about this man made laws is that they seem to be coming with laws after laws; new legislation after another new legistlation. and at the end all it serves is to cause a biger problem than there was already.

in the UK and the west it seem that there is so much imphasis and importance has been placed on abeying and respecting the law; and thats the letter of the law rather the moral of it. AND THATS WERE ISLAM DIFFER as it address the moral of the law. The root cause as well as the effect of it!

This is hardly going to be a slam-dunk. Rowan was essentially talking just about marriage and divorce laws, and got considerable opposition even there. Read the above link. IF sharica is implemented anywhere in the West, I doubt most Muslims will recognize it.

biko,

morality is basically doing the right thing...and in the secular west, they often equate morality with religious inclination, and since they also equate religion with all things outside the scope of "logic", moral grounds take a back seat to skewed logic..

basically its an issue of virtue and vice
