A single four-story building is Somalia's largest claim to fame. Somalia's infrastructure was more than 100 years behind every single one of its neighbors, minus crappy Djibouti.

Xamar was never developed, so it was no big deal if the place got blown to bits.

What about Ugandans who were fighting inside skyscrapers, LOL?

--------------------------------------------------------------

The smaller ones were built earlier during colonialism. The larger ones were built recently, and are still being built. Look at the far left in the photo, you'll see a crane above the largest skyscraper in the photo, still being completed.

Africa is going places, especially Uganda & Rwanda, the only two African states who learned the lessons of civil war.
