Traditional Somali Dugsi Quran

Postby General_Farax » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:23 pm

Nowadays you see there is alot of resourceful and very bright somali youngster that have no interest or motivation whatsoever for education, especially in the diaspora,my theory is that this has to do with horrible past experience with Dugsi in early ages back home.

The Quran was not the problem, but the teachers, methods and the facilities, all factors conributed to destroy young students abilities to learn and in many cases their future.Later some of these students even devoloped hate for their beautiful religon, becmoing moryaans, murtads, gaalo helpers, tfgs blind follower just in ordet to avoid anything that has to do with islam.

But latest some wise somalis has changed this madness i somalia, they opened new schools, students was teached the MEANING of the Quran ,gradually (unlike the Dugsis senseless marathon teaching) combined with other subjects like Math,History,Science etc..They got respect and good treatment from their teachers, plus great support from relatives. These new students in turn influenced former criminals to turn back to Islam, and started to CHANGE the society within..Its well known fact that most ICU memebers and shabaabs hail from these schools.

Have you been affected by this?

Oh man! Eddie Murphy is so awesome! I mean, his newest movies are terrible, but his 80s stand-up was some sick stuff.
