Somali Wife seeks divorce over Qur'an interpretation

Postby Minneapolis Mayor » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:53 pm

I heard the funniest story of my life today.

My friend's wife is asking for divorce because her husband interpreted an ayah of the Qur'an.

He said " I will always thank allah because allaah said in the Qur'an " lain shakartum ala aziidanakum" which means if you thank allah about something he gave you, he will give you more of it. so Said I will thank allah for giving me a wife to marry so that he can give me more wives. and the wife is asking for divorce because the guy does not love her anymore and is thinking about asking allah to give him more wives.

I was just being frank; one condition that my future wife would have to agree to. I'm sure there are millions of sisters who wouldn't mind it. This lucky man is my role model:

Apparently, marrying them in the same day has become normal, especially in Somaliland.
