between 2.5 million to 3.5 million.

even if you counter in the destruction and war, the birth rate is still very high, much higher than the death rate..
so i think the 3% increase of the 80s still holds..

if the 1975 census was undereported then 3.5 million quoted allot today is probably correct
if it was accurate than 3% increase on average would make it about 3 million today.
