Siad Barre was likely the worst President in Somali history, economically we're in a superior position after decades of civil war than we ever were under his regime, sixteen of the eighteen indicators used to measure Human Development Index (HDI) have either increased or remained stable, the only two regressing being literacy and access to schooling, which when compared to access to essentials like accessibility of water are irrelevant.

The currency, the safety of the people, the economy, the facilities available have all IMPROVED under some of the worst circumstances on the planet today. If the civil war hadn't kicked off, the government would have underwent bankruptcy.

What does that say about Siad Barre and his 'government' ? These are facts. There's no basis on which anybody can support Barre other than clan, he was a failure as a diplomat as a President and as a man. I can only name two things he did which benefited the country during his reign.
