Somalia’s new interior minister says on Sunday his ministry will come up with tough measures of improving the security of the capital.
In a ceremony of taking over the office in Mogadishu, Mr. Abdishakur Sheik Hassan said he is going to set new strategies of preventing the insecurity and gaining the control of entire the city.
His remarks came as the rebel Islamist groups continue their fighting against the government and its back up African Union troops.
The current officials have recently been visiting the frontline positions in Mogadishu to embolden the government troops to face the rebel attacks.
Since coming to the power nearly two years ago, the government has been gradually losing in many battle zones as the militant groups were gaining more territories.
