Ruth Abraha is also another young talent who is trying to follow the footseps of the great Helen Meles, another great patriot of Eritrea.

Eritrean women are really Mashallah, so pretty

There's a certain sparta mentality among Eritrean singers. We even play war songs at weddings. Most Eritrean songs have references to soldiers or war.

For example, If you fast forward to 3:45 into that video above, Ruth Abraha says, "where is my brave Eritrean soldier, when I see him, I will hug him and kiss him"

Helen Meles is a war veteran and a bigger than life star to Eritreans - both her parents were war veterans, so her family is well respected. She is arguably the hottest female singer in East Africa and perhaps even all of Africa - She's constantly demanded by other countries to sing for them and when she has concerts in the states, a lot of the people who buy her tickets are from other countries.

Helen Meles has a fiery personality, she's very witty and sassy and isn't shy at all, by that I mean, if you're busted, she's call you out on it real quick - she's very confident. A few years ago, Helen left a millionaire Eritrean dude in Asmara, for a rude, slightly aggressive Eritrean soldier who talked with his hands and played the saxophone. If that does not prove that money isn't everything, than I don't know what will.

Women don't think rationally when it comes to selecting their partners. A girl can call you ugly but if you make her feel powerful emotions inside her, she'll be with you and there's no force on earth that can make her feel otherwise.
Hey.....How can i get her to perform for my future wedding..... :)

It is like Tigrinya music is incapable of being diversified like Amharic music. They always rely on that drum tempo making all the songs sound the same.
Actually, I believe Amharic is the least diversified, as their beats all have an uptempo beat to them. Besides, people make the beats to suit how people dance. You can't have a fast beat to people who generally dance slower. Aside from traditional Eritrean songs, the majority of Tigrinya beats are actually very diverse. Remember, the only African singers to get a real western contract for singing in his native language was an Eritrean by the name of Abraham Afwerki. As some might know, he died a few years ago in a tragic drowning accident. But it goes to show, if you can master and advance your music to the point where the white man pays your bills, you are doing things right.

Here's the late Abraham Afwerki singing a love song called Kihiliwelki'ye (I'll Protect you).

Helen Meles Singing Nibat Fikri (tears of love).

Helen Meles singing in Arabic called Asmara Jamila (Beautiful Asmara)

Both Helen Meles and Elsa Kidane were childhood friends who were in the same classes up in Nakfa during wartime. Btw, the guy in this video, who was my neighbor in the Bay area, actually ended up marrying this girl in this Elsa Kidane love song/video. Elsa even attended their wedding. Before doing this music video, these two couples never met one another.

Right now, this is the hottest song in Eritrea - Faben is going to take Helen Meles by storm.

Bro you have touched on a very important and astute point. Eritrea has developed a culture and tradition based on their war heroes and that is very admirable. Regardless of which side I thought was right or wrong in the war, I believe that the spirit shown by the Eritreans was amount to something historical.

Helen Meles is definately a star, Im not surprised that she left to be with a soldier, they say women model their idols on their father fighure, if her father was a soldier then its no wonder she went to be with a soldier. Women are exactly as you have described.

This is what happens when you give maids internet, when I was in Ethiopia I complained that the female maids should never be given internet or else they will not do their work properly. What was the result? A poor harvest this season on my farm. Thanks to your family.
