Ancient Curses!

Postby Navy9 » Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:11 am

Curse of Tamerlane

Temur, a muslim conqueror who died in 1405 at the present day Uzbekistan, was the founder of the Timurid Empire of Central Asia. It's believed he said: "I am not a man of blood; and God is my witness that in all my wars I have never been the aggressor, and that my enemies have always been the authors of their own calamity." Whether that is true or not, is not of an important point here, he was loved by many as he was hated by many just like any other ruler. Anyhow, when he was buried, there was a sign put in his tomb which said: "Whosoever opens my tomb shall unleash an invader more terrible than I" and just days after a Soviet anthropologist exhumed his body, Germany invaded the Soviet in 1941!

Do you know of any other curses? :P

Hi Navy,

I like your posts, always interesting/informative

Nope, I don't know the answer to your question.

Do you know, this July will have 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays? This happens once every 238 yrs!

Anyway, this info is from one of this office chain letters I received:

"This year July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays. This apparently happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So send this on and money will arrive in 5 days. Based on chinese feng shui the one who does not pass this on will have money troubles for the rest of the year...""
