I was watching some Al Jazeera news clips.

These aren't damn protesters, these are militias.

What kind of protesters drive around in mounted trucks carrying RPGs and anti-aircraft weapons? Everybody from ministers to generals and soldiers went to their clans, tribes, hometowns and setup isbaaro. Every city is doing a recruitment drive and each city has several thousand volunteers. Mind you, these fuckers have a million times more weapons and ammunition than Somalia did 20 years ago. They can maintain a century-long war with just what they have today. Civil war isn't looming, its already here. All sides are now rushing to Tripoli.

Lets pray its worse than the one we had in '91.

lool I remember thinking the same thing. The Tunisian/Egyptian protesters didn't even have knives and their Armies were united. In Libya These fockers are running around in army fatigues, and I saw them in armored cars. They are not protesters but rebels which is different. I was hearing on the radio that this Country doesn't have a real opposiiton and there could be a real vaccum. I think they will have a short extremely high intensity civil war but it will be wrapped up quick.



Difference between Libya/Somalia? Oil. They are the 4th largest exporter of oil and now in the US Oil is $3.50 a gallon and rising due to the Libya conflict. Italy which is right across the sea is also gonna collapse economically and the EU also if LIbya stays like this. There will be a 50,000 strong EU/Nato force that will deploy and restore a Gov a la Iraq if things get out of hand. With Somalia they didn't really have anything anybody wanted so nobody gave or does give a shid.
