Time to refresh your high school math.welcome all math geeks.This question/problem is so simple it can be done in 4 mins.so attempt it.

Addoow is 8 years older than his friend.in 7 years time addoow will be twice as old as his friend his now.how old is addow now?

very simple to breeze through it.

Take friend's age = x
Take Addoow's age = a

Ages now: a = x + 8
Ages in 7 years time: a + 7 = 2x

Solve simultaneously:

a - 8 = x (1)
a + 7 = 2x (2)

(2) - (1): 15 = x

Therefore Addoow's age now: 15 + 8 = 23 (if you insist)

No, your math is off. if he is 23 plus 7 is 30, and his friend is 8 years younger so he would be 22, how he is addow twice as old.

Look at 9, if his friend is 8 years younger he is 1, so plus 7 years that would make addow 16, and his friend 8

Yes that is also true, however the question is more specific

in 7 years time addoow will be twice as old as his friend his now.

So in your scenario, in 7 years time, he will be 2 yrs old

Solve simultaneously:

(2) - (1): 15 = x

Therefore Addoow's age now: 15 + 8 = 23 (if you insist)

Your answer is right btw,there was no need for simultaneous equations.

you just need equate addows age in seven years to twice the present age of his friend.
x+7=2(x-8);
x+7=2x-16;
7+16=2x-x
23=x or x=23 and the age of the friend is 23-8 and that is 15.
