Most Somali tribes Names are Oromo

Postby hanad_mn » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:50 am

Hawiye, Hiraab, Majeerteen, Mareexaan, Garhajis, gedabursi, Awrtable, Xawaadle, gaaljecel, Dir,Karanle, darood, liisaan, hadamo, makane, Digille, Mirifle etc

all the tribes that have non arabic names are Oromos. the young tribes have arabic names because they were born when Islam Came.

The big tribes names are oromos and have no mean in Somali.

that is another proof that, oromo and somalis were one not long ago.

Because the names of the tribe is Oromo, that shows this awooweyaal were either oromos themselves or the chidlren of oromos. I am not saying Somalis are Oromos. But I am saying because of the names of the tribes and the places,

they were either one at one point, Or Somalis were Oromos. Oromos cannot be Somalis because Oromo Names and Places have some meaning in Oromo and not Somali. SO the comparison is either Parallel or Vertical integretion.

hawiye is a different variation of the somali word hubiye which means someone who verifies/substantiates.therefore,it is actually somali.the only clan i can think of being related to oromos calturally, linguistically and of course geneologically are the somalized ogaadens.

Addow why not ask the oromos in this forum who their somali neighbours are

Most of the Hawiyes live in the fringes that border Oromos.

However these folks look more somali than you guys that come from Jowhar
