However, I really think the Bantu numbers in Somalia have to be rethought. I can't help but notice the news feeds and pictures from the Dadaab refugee camp show people who are predominantly ethnic Somalis but the pictures and feeds from inside Somalia particularly Mogadishu environs show people predominant who are Bantu. Anyone else notice that?
I noticed the same thing, must have to do with geography than other factors. Dadaab is the furthest away from any regions Bantus inhabit, whereas Muqdisho is much closer to the Shabelles which have been hit the hardest and where many Shiidle populations inhabit. Furthermore, Gosha is pretty much untouched by the drought and that might explain why you don't see Bantus at Dadaab. Most Bantus generally make their trek to Kakuma and that is where they are predominant. Muqdisho has always had local Jareer-weyne populations, specially in areas like Waaberi, Buur karoole, Boondheere, Xamar jajab, Shingaani, etc.
