Cause Ethiopia is freeing H Lands From Alshabab  & kenya will free the Darood lands in the South which means they can vote in 2012 before all other lands are free of Al-shabab.

Kenya was attacked and Somalia can't do anything about keeping it's borders under control or alshabaab, what do you expect? the same way French forces and other International forces attacked the Somali coast to hunt Pirates! can Somalia Protect it waters or borders, NO!
Kenyan forces were preparing way before the kidnaps. They cannot mobilize that quickly. Additionally al-shabab denied the kidnaps.

On top of that..French and international forces is a different case altogether.

1. They were not on the ground and colonising.
2. They do not have nfd and a regional rivalry with Somalia.
3. The French Defence minister and deputy speaker are not Ogaden. Why use Ras Kamboni?

2. They do not have nfd and a regional rivalry with Somalia. Well we are to weak to do anything about NFD now and i do not see them fighting like the ONLF!
3. The French Defence minister and deputy speaker are not Ogaden. Why use Ras Kamboni? So Ogaden have no voice? the Land belongs to them!!! & who else is ready to take Afmadow & so on? Raskamboni is part of the TFG supporters.

 Wise words will be lost amongst the clan cheerleaders. Gandhi was on TV not too long ago speaking( from Nairobi  ) like a man expecting to inherit a Kingdom

However it seems as the Kenyans have convinced the other main group in this region that they will get a piece of the pie. How else can you explain ASWJ getting upset at Sharif  ? I need to see this powerpoint presentation General Kikuyu showed these guys. Must have been waterfalls and rainbows topped off with a Jubbaland flag flapping in the distance  This dream won't last long however and the groups will turn one each other, either on their own initiative or through manipulation.

What started with a recovery mission for poor old Euro women will predictably turn into a multidimensional cwar where al Shabaab will barely have to fire any bullets. All these bombs they are dropping and whatnot haven't touched a thing. They haven't even confronted them head on and wont. They will lay low, wait this one out and wait for either a) the Kenyans to pull out and b) for the groups involved to implode and turn on each other or the most likely c) which will be both A and B options. Once again AlShabaab, who are supposed to be the cave dwelling knuckle draggers in this conflict, will outsmart everyone involved.

There is a difference between having a voice and hijacking the whole jubba. Shouldn't a mamul goboleed be built from the ground up? It seems to me as if Ogaden are trying to snatch Kismayo from under everyone's nose using kenya :D

What worries me is kenya's interests. I doubt they care for Somali politics that much. Why are they so after jubbaland/azania?

Personally, I'm in two minds. I absolutely want shabab to go even with the help of Kenya theoritcally but I don't trust their intentions at all.

We then have the nerve to dismiss the intelligence of the Kenyans and 'fufus'. The funny thing each Somali faction thinks they're winning and getting over on others

Al-shabab love it. These guys have an uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. In some areas this year and on a few occassions, as soon shabab is overpowered rival factions would immediately begin to fight for supremacy.

Like FHA said AlShabaab keeps getting the upper edge because it operates on ideology before clan. Granted in the normal world this ideology wouldn't hold much currency, in Somalia a country that has been bankrupt of political actors that operate on any form of ideology, this gives them the constant upper hand. While other groups want to ensure supremacy before compromise, they are able to take defeats and make strategic decisions when under threat. None of the other actors show the ability to do the same.
