Peace down south means war up north.

Post by zingii »

What do you think of the below quote?
Reunification with the south is unanimously opposed. Not a single Somalilander I know wants reunification. Not a single Somali from the rest of the country wants Somaliland to stay independent. Unless we are very careful, peace in the south of Somalia will mean war in the north.

He is over exaggerating its all about who is waging war against who Somaliland is and will stay an independent republic if you disagree than that is your problem but this is not a case for war unless some one is waging a war.

Wars are mostly if not all are waged because of disagreements.

This is unlikely the case perhaps fighting over borders is something that i can understand but a full scale war i doubt it

Yes ofcourse but what do we have in Somaliland
a working government

Idoor let me tell you something, now i know that it kills you that after twenty years of pain, Mogadishu now has total peace and unity.
And i know it kills you that Hawiye and Darood brothers believe in Unity and forgiveness

Isaac land will never be recognized and can never be viewed as a government on the same level as the national government in Mogadishu. Your nothing more than on the same level as Puntland and Galmudug, meaning you'll never be more than a local state government under Somalia

First of all, when idoors stop becoming Ethiopia's biggest bitch, when they stop giving ethiopia free Berbera port use.
Then you could tell us about foreign mercenaries in Somalia.

For now leave these issues to us, because obviously we are the real nationalist that believe in a United Somalia unlike you

Galia yes Ethiopians are the biggest clients of Somaliland port they import and export their goods they pay a high price for that these bilateral and trade relations between two Countries. Ethiopia also uses the Djibouti port but i will never allow a single Ethiopian soldier to cross the border into my Country the same way i am against Ethiopians and kikuyos in Somalia killing innocent Somali civilians. Even one can say we are missing Something because of the unrecognized status of Somaliland other than that its going well but thats just something that will come the relations between Sl and Ethiopians are short term interest Ethiopians lose more because they are landlocked and have no acces to sea.

The picture the writer paints says if i further try to highlight it:

the north doesn't want anything to do with the south (government wise) and yell "we aint comming back", whereby
the rest yell "you aint going no where".

Now as you can see the two believes contradict each other which will create animosity between the two thus enabling
arms conflict to take place.
