Yes. Nothing wrong with it; science has proven there's negligible (something like 0.02%) difference between cousin and non-cousin marriages.can you see yourself marrying any of your cousins?
Next time I see cousins getting hitched I will probably be wondering if this was the reason.if you are scared if you're daughter brings home a Somali Boy from a clan you do not like wed her to her cousin or second cousin best solution and introduce them to each other
lol..but that does more harm than good believe me... once there is a problem in the relationship ..the family would be divided..if you are scared if you're daughter brings home a Somali Boy from a clan you do not like wed her to her cousin or second cousin best solution and introduce them to each other
This is news to me. Somali nomads have known for a long time the deleterious effects of marriages among close relatives. This is obviously very normal in somali culture
I know a lot of Somali's from way before civil war who do cousin marriages. It's very normal in Somali culture.Maandeeq, then it must be recent phenomenon spurred by the traumas of the civil war. People may want avoid future family problems due to clan differences. But that is shunned upon by traditional somalis. Somalis have known for a long time that marrying close relatives increases chances of inhereting genetic disorders. If you marry close relative, you reduce the genetic diversity in the gene pool of your children which will increase the chances of them inhereting a genetic disorder.
True. It's very normal in Somali culture.
