The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
Who agrees with this?
We cannot accept that we are sharing with them the government while they dont share their oil which is national resource.
U better share the oil before hell is gonna break , or just secede.

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
Punt oil belongs to Puntland and once Somalia gets a real government, obviously the locals should still get the most benefit especially if that government will not be giving them a good trade off like taking care of roads, hospitals, and other social services which the central government is supposed to majority provide.
I read a lot of jealous laden writings from HG people. One even saying "Somalis will invade you and take it". Build Guriceel, Cadaado, and Hobyo and concentrate on finding resources there instead of using the Somali name for something you can do nothing about.

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
If this project succeeds, this is just the beginning.
I genuinely believe that our source of conflict is based primarily on competition for scarce resources. Our forefathers wrote epic poems about capturing wells and shit
Just yesterday there was a battle over a city most of us would give our left nut to get out of in the event of deportation.
It all boils down to cold, hard economics. If Puntland can sign an agreement with a MNC and make $ while avoiding exploitation, who's to say other entities and statelets can't?
Our entire civil war will be moot if we're all awash in resource wealth

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
I don't see any struggle for oil sxb. Who and what Somali has any position from 1991 to now or future can go all the way to Garowe and contest what Puntland can do in the heart of Puntland territory? Indho adakaa.
I actually think if Puntand finds a large quantity of oil, they did well for themselves now when they are the sole sovereign over their land and even signed the papers that made today possible as the independent owners of the resources. Anything after this from a central Somali government perspective leaves Puntland in the dominant position to shape its relations with a weak central government. I am actually jealous for my own lands, I wish we can establish our independent soverignty over our lands as fast as possible while a central government is weak but happy for Puntland and its advancement especially knowing the visceral hatred and jealousy it brings from USC remnants.

^You do realize that if the dowlad ku sheeg doesnt tell punanis how things are, we might switch from sides.
Give our loyalty to shabaab just to piss the punanis off.
Imagine all the hutus in shabaab.
Thats a nightmare scenario.
Iam happy that Oil is found in Somali ground, but my problem is how they want to have all.

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
As a HG I am happy for the people living in PLand, hopefully this brings the development which the people need.
If we are speaking in terms of policy and economics then you have to look at countries all over the world to see how it's done. However we're not even there yet. When we have a strong enough central government they can make all these decisions because push come to shove Puntland comes under the Somali banner. I was aware that there were already Oil deals signed during the MSB admin, the companies that signed these agreements won't sit silently while someone else cashes in. And if the central government decides this deal is bullshit this company will lose all its current investment.
So all in all it is a lot more complicated than to share or not to share. There are a lot bigger hurdles to face. Not to mention how much of any money will trickle down to the people in those areas themselves. Iska day bo people on SNet

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
Honestly, none of us have any say over the situation. Not the people in favor nor against, but while even I share some of the reservations expressed by Black Velvet and so would most rational people, I just find it pathetic how members of a single clan in Snet have the most expressed negativity towards what happened today including calls for invasion from "Somalis" as well as acting like the keys to Somalia or its positions are judged by them and their rubric. It's sad really. Tricks are for kids. You come from three dusty villages in barren central Somalia. Build them up and look for resources there rather than trying to usurp the future central Somali government's role vis-a-vis deliberations between the federal Puntland State and the central Somali government of which Puntland is part of.

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
Hutuking your threats are amazing sxb. You come from the clan which at the height of power it has ever seen and totally lost to go back to irrelevance, a regional President was this to the American ambassador as exposed by wikileaks
Don't hate on other regions and the fact they are making things for themselves.
DAS Yamamoto sought and
obtained President Guelleh's agreement to approach the Ayr
clan in Somalia with a view toward tamping down the
violence there and facilitating the reconciliation
process.Guelleh cautioned, however, that the Ayr had very
little real influence in Somalia, and derived much of its
authority from its affiliation with the Marehan. Guelleh
described Somalia as both complicated and simple, and the
warlords as "dangerous." He also said the warlords will
never accept a central government.
http://cables.mrkva.eu/cable.php?id=59691Guelleh responded that in his view, the Ayr do not
have much influence. They originate
from the poorest and most desolate region of Somalia and
derive much of their authority from their affiliation with
the Marehan. When Said Barre's regime collapsed, he
continued, the Ayr were targeted by the Hawiye and kept a
low profile. After Abdiqasim came to power, the Ayr
re-emerged and many became businessmen. Guelleh stated
that some Ayr are Islamists, such as Dahir Aweys, the head
of Al-Ittihad. Yet without the Marehan, the Ayr are
nothing and remain close to them. Still, Guelleh said, he
would be willing "to send some messages to them."
Don't hate on other regions and the fact they are making things for themselves.

Re: The PuntOil belongs to Somalia
That's nice and all. But you are Cayr my sister. You live in one village in Somalia (Guriceel) and a Dhusa-mareb that on google maps is 1/4 the size the nearest Marehan town (Cabudwaq). As an HG, you have Saleban that lives in one town in Somalia (Cadaado), and a Sacad who live in one village with honest to god 4 buildings on google maps (Hobyo) and lives in Baraxley of Gaalkacyo. I can understand why your clansmen are like that.BlackVelvet wrote:You chat some much bullshit Voltage. Which people from which clan? HKing and AW represent all HG? As for laangaab, I don't know how someone in my position can respond to a person who lives in two villages in Somalia.
