Why do the Hadiths say Prophets Musa & Jesus as being black?

Post by AwdalPrince »

The Hebrew Israelites were right all along

To proceed:

If this information wasn't important, then our Prophet Muhammad wouldn't have mentioned it right? Everyone he says is revelation, so lets see his description of Prophets Musa and Isa (Jesus). I'm surprised to see what I've found.

They are authentic hadiths from Sahih Muslim, Bukhari and Ahmad. The Arabic will be provided.

“I saw Musa (Moses) and he was a black-skinned man.”
Musnad Imam Ahmed Hadith # 3365

“As for Musa/Moses, he is a black-skinned man with very curly hair.”

AL Qurtubi, the famous interprator of the Qur'an says when talking about Musa's (AS) appearance:

"Musa (Moses) was extremely dark brown in skin color."

At Tabari says in the Tafsir about Prophet Musa's sign of his handing turning white:

"According to what we were told, Musa (Moses) was black-skinned and Allah made Musa’s hand turning white, without being affected by leprosy, a sign for him."

Tafsir of the same verse by al Baidawi:

"It is related that Musa (pbuh) was black-skinned. He put his hand in his pocket or under his armpit and took it out and it was white."

What about Isa (Jesus)? What did the Prophet (SAW) say about his appearance:

Ibn Umar said, “No! I swear by Allah that the prophet (pbuh) didn’t say that Jesus was light-skinned, but he said ‘While I was asleep, I was walking around the Kaaba when I saw a black-skinned man with straight hair between two men. I asked who the man was and I was told that he was Isa (Jesus) the son of Meryem.’…”
Bukhari (hadith number 3185)

Everything in the Hadiths are important, the question is, if it isn't important why did the Prophet (SAW) speak about it in great detail?

"He (Muhammad) doesn't speak of his own desires, it is but a revelation revealed" (Surah an Najm 3-4)

There are hadiths which say that prophet Musa was brown and that prophet Isa had a red face.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "On the night of my Ascension to Heaven, I saw (the prophet) Moses who was a thin person with lank hair, looking like one of the men of the tribe of Shanua; and I saw jesus who was of average height with red face as if he had just come out of a bathroom. And I resemble prophet Abraham more than any of his offspring does. Then I was given two cups, one containing milk and the other wine. Gabriel said, 'Drink whichever you like.' I took the milk and drank it. Gabriel said, 'You have accepted what is natural, (True Religion i.e. Islam) and if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.' " (Book #55, Hadith #607)

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet said, "One should not say that I am better than Jonah (i.e. Yunus) bin Matta." So, he mentioned his father Matta. The Prophet mentioned the night of his Ascension and said, "The prophet Moses was brown, a tall person as if from the people of the tribe of Shanu'a. jesus was a curly-haired man of moderate height." He also mentioned Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire, and Ad-Dajjal. (Book #55, Hadith #608)

Why should it bother muslims what colour Musa pbuh and Jesus pbuh were?
Is their colour important or the message they were sent with.

Because Prophets/messengers were sent to every nation.
Talking about their skin colour/appearence is a good thing IMO it shows that Islam was diverse from the go!

Anyway alot of arabs are/were dark skinned.. I even heard a maxaadiro which claimed that the original/ancient arabs were indeed dark skinned/black. Just look at the vast majority of Yemenis today compared to other arabs around the middle east.

people in ancient Egypt hade a written languages and they left tons of scripters and wall paintings and mumuified kings. Modern egyptologys until now did not find a character or man called Mussa(moses) ever lived in Egypt.
the stories about musses in the bible and torraa and 600 years later in the Quran about Moses and hes people isrealites living in Egypt the time of Egyptian King pharoa RAMZEEZ.

King ramzeez and all other king pharoas in anciant Egypt left plenty of wall scriperters and even their mumufied bodies.tusaale King ramzeez died 90 years old in hes bed and king ramzeeez time we know how life in egypt look like in that time .
Modern Egyptology researchers could not find a single evidence that people called isrealites ever existed or man called MUSSA ever lived in Egypt.

Modern Egyptology researchers also know that other nations which was living in the time of anciant Egypt was Nubians, Sumerians. lIBIYANS but they is no even singel place wich nation called Isrealites or religion judaism¨were presens in Egypty.
so actually all Modern egyptologys believe Mussa and people of isrealites is fictional stories which people made up thousends years after ancient Egypt time.

ops= this is not dr yalax wuxuu rumeysan yahay. its just i wonder maxaa cadeeyn looga heli waayey masaaridii hore waxa ay ka tageen nin la yiraahdo MUUSE oo badda kala baray ayaa noolaa waqtigaa ama dad isrealites la yiraahdo ayaa jiray waqtigaa?
