This woman started a shelter in Baltimore for Muslim women who were victims of domestic violence. I believe she is a Nurse by trade and lost her job (perhaps due to her attention being on the shelter).

So she's laid off, has her elderly mother with her, and is now homeless. She's staying in the same shelter she started.

Now, only a day later, the Muslim community set a goal of $14,000 to pay a year's worth of rent to get herself back on her feet since she has helped hundreds of women.
