He was threatened by Al Shabab back last summer over the phone and he pretty much told them if you're going to kill me, go ahead and kill me, I'm at the hotel right now. Obviously it was an empty threat.
Your fathered got emotional and ignored common sense. You do not dare someone to kill you, less he takes it as a challenge. That might not have been an empty threat; they might be bidding their time and the right time/place. I would advise your father to stay away from Mogadishu; it isn't safe for people like him.

They said on the phone they were going to kill him at 8 PM.

He said, if you're going to do it... do it. What's all the talk for?

He traced the # and got the phone company to shut the number down.

His dad and Farmaajo are best pals; the main reason why he went back to Somalia.

My dad detests the politics actually. He is so not involved with the government. He is there to do business and utilize the properties that my awoowe (AUN) left to him when he passed away 3 years ago.

My father is from the USA and he practically grew up here and that's the main thing that makes him stick out. But he keeps a low profile.

AUN. Have the people how live in abandoned properties agreed to leave the property your dad inherited?
