Nimco Dareen Ft Luul Jeylaani?

Postby Twist » Thu Aug 08, 2013 10:32 pm

:ohhh:

PS: One of my all time favorite Luul Jeylaani Banaadiri songs & Dareen pulled it off well (though not as good as mama Luul).

LOL!

Her Banaadiri isn't that bad to be honest. I was surprised when I saw this new Banaadiri song of hers in her latest album: (If only that other chick at the studio kept bloody calm!)

Twist, I think it would be a toll-order for anyone to pull that classic Benadiri song off. Originally sung by an icon of the genre, the one and only Luul Jeylaani, this is one of the best Benadiri songs ever recorded. Having said that, Nimco Dareen, who is quite talented in her own right, and figures, from what I gather, among the upper-echelon of today's crop of Somali singers, did try her best to do some justice to the song notwithstanding the fact that this kind of song is obviously out of her realm of expertise.
I would give Nimco Dareen an A for effort.

barbarossa, you summed it up well, mate.

You're right, not every new generation singer call do justice to most of the old school songs, let alone Luul Jeylaani's songs.

Couldn't find a better (clear) version of it but this is the original with Luul Jeylaani's young angelic voice:

Nimco dareen makes $80,000 every concert in north america maybe even more in EU
SA, how do you know that? 80K a concert (do they pay tax horta?)? And how many concerts do these singers make a year average?

I don't think Maryooley singer makes such money these days. With such money they could be millionaires in few years.
