So, it was a non-Somali who created the script?The most overlooked scholar of "Somali Studies" was Bogumił Witalis Andrzejewski.
He transcribed and translated thousands of poems and even helped create the Latin script for the Somali language.
I found Lewis' work a bit too "Anthropological" if you get my meaning
No, the final script was developed by dozens of people. Andrzejewski helped as part of the team developing the official orthography (how words should be represented by the new Somali alphabet)So, it was a non-Somali who created the script?
