Those of us who grew up in the west know all about it, I used to get dhunko's on the cheeks as a child from hooyo during bed time, never happened ever since, although I had a few bumps in the road called life, but that indecency is now over with.

no difference in kissing lips or cheek other than the fact that lips show more love and connection for that person you like. cheeks is showing love for friends and family.

kissing = love

and Somalis used to love thousands of years ago so its no surprise that that word is in the Somali vocabulary.
