It's actually called laxoox in proper Somali, canjeero is a xabashi word coming from their word for injera. Laxoox is a flat bread/ pancake.

Canjeero (anjeero) = Somali style pancake, slightly lighter than malawax, which is pancake. Normally have it for breakfast with maraq (soup), malab (honey) or whatever. I think the Somalileen call it laxoox.(lahooh) not sure though.
