I really thought the public execution that happened in Mogadishu was barbaric and unnecessary to say the least. My friend who watched the pictures and vidoe was traumatized by it. The Islamic Courts or who ever staged this event probably DID NOT graduate from College and thus is not enlightned. Although the motive might had been to discourage crime, however, it taints Somalia's image among other nations, perhaps as a place of cruelty, uncultured people, and pre-historic punishment guidelines.
But we shouldn't blame no one for this, a handi-caped justice system, untrained sheikh-justices, and the prevalence of violent crimes have contributed to this event
