Well, the American democracy is by far one of the worst democracies all over the world. You have to be very rich, very very rich, to become someone in the American politics. It doesn't happen in Europe, for example, in which anyone, and I mean anyone interested on politics and working hard can be the president in France, Spain, Nederlands (Italy is out of the matter here), etc.
And weird that most of muslims voting in America voted for the Republicans...
Kamal
You are right, most Muslims have voted Republicans in presidential elections like in 2000 for that close Republican win, and in 2004, but not this time. This time, the sleeping giant has been awakened. And with the help of moderates, African Americans, democrats and liberals Americans, Muslim Americans (a whole cultural mixture) accepted the American norms of elctioneering by that win. After all, the winner was an Afro-American guy. It is time for a change and a time for a mutual social contract. We in Australia regardless of race, nationality or beliefs like the Europeans do have a love and hate realtionship with America. I hate Goerge Bush's admin and respect many American values. Though democracy is for rich people to advertise themselves to be voted in, it is naturally correct to be seen in the west to be the only best funded party in reagrds to public opinon=democracy. $$$ and modern democracy are inseprable. With it's many short comings, I love democracy. Do you know Prophet Mohamed never designated his successors, and advised learned Musllims to elect their own caliph?
