why do you like it hamar to be destroyed by ayr shabab terrorists from central somalia and few lost souls from ogadenia? if you care about your own city and its people like sheikh sharif a local xamar native, you will oppose any violence in hamar. you are a violent habargedir obssessed with the view the only road to lead hawiye tribe is through to be in charge of xamar. be kind to your fellow hawiye, abgals and their beautiful city, my city and your city. stop the violence.

First of all musika, Xamar was destroyed by the former dictator and the consequent warlords who were all former members of the old regime. Xamar was not destroyed by the young boys who form the shabaab, they were victims and are victims of the war...more so than you and I.

The shabaab are young people who got fed up with being subjected to insecurity and anarchy and decided to enforce a change, using the only thing they know...Islam. Next time ask yourself what you would do if you were in that situation. The shabaab ensured those who committed crimes where brought to court. They are the forces of justice and peace, unlike us they made a positive difference to the lives of ordinary people.... It was widely reported that areas which had Islamic courts were more peaceful than those which were controlled by moryaan and their warlord leaders.

Lastly, you need to get over your cuqdad and obsession with hawiye.

i love hawiye people and specially abgals, you as a habargedir hate them. hamar belongs to them and let them decide not dahir awies, abdiqasim, indhocadde, qeybdid. you hate them. fact is the downfall of the ayr hijacked was they hated you too. habargedir lacks a control of a major region like mjertens and isaks and want to hijack hamar from abgals to claim hawiye leadership. like habargedir, abdulahi yusuf is from central somalia and hijacked puntland from local differnet sub clan mjertens in puntland to make a base for his claim for somali rule. habargedir has similar tactics against abgaals in hamar. tribal politics. swing it any way yo want like abdulahi yusuf supporters.

^ Musika, horta were did you get this idea that habargidir hate abgaal? Habargidir and abgaal fought only once and that was ages ago...you are not abgaal which would explain why you'd say such things.

Secondly, Moqdisho is a mudulood city and you can say it belongs to abgaal but there were always non abgaal hawiye residents including habargidir. There were districts which were majority habargidir, just like there were majority reer xamar districts and majority abgaal...

The point here is, Muqdisho is the capital, it is home to over 3million people, not any particular clan. Whatever happens to our capital affects us all not any specific clan. You're probably too young to understand this, but not everything is about clan.

THREE MILLION PEOPLE?? Yeah right.

There has been no reliable census info in a long time in Mog, but I have heard numbers from 900,000 to 2 million thrown around. There is no way there is three million people in Mog.

Probably around 1.2 mil

hamar is abgal and shaanshi city, both still love the brother and sisterhood of all somalis, except habargedir and mjertens. abdulahi yusuf and dahir aweis, constestants for somali leadership and their supporters are all from central somalia. call me naive, but it is the truth. give the abgals and others like us a chance to rule their city. why do you hate to admit hamar is a hwaiye city only for abgaals while habargedirs come from central somalia? that is what pissed off sheikh sharif and iuc lost the support of the abgal tribe.

^ shanshii shiirtoy gormee xamar lahaadeen? Shocked

Shanshii are not the only reer xamar, hell, they're not even the largest reer xamar clan incase you didn't know.... There are probably more jareer in Xamar than Shaanshi not that anyone is counting. Laughing

But you can argue that Xamar is an Abgaal city since it used to theirs before they were kicked out centuries ago and of course it also belongs to all the other reer Xamar people who settled there and it belongs to all those who were born there and it belongs to all those who own land there and it belongs to all Somalis as their capital....

Somali capital should be moved to either one of these cities: Gaalkacyo(good and in the heart of the country), Hargeisa(big and good location) or Bosaso(big coastal nice location big port)

(Kismayo is too south to be the capital)

Mogadishu is Somalia's national shame

Salaamu Calaykum Dhamaan

There was a time after the Civil War that I would avoid answering people who asked me where I was born but would rather answer with " I am originally from...". I was ashamed of what Xamar had become. To me the whole qabiil fighting did not make sense but what made less sense is how people could destroy a whole city, THE capital city, and have no remorse. So I was ashamed to be ever associated with such barbaric creatures.

I was born in Mogadishu. I was not raised in Somalia but every summer after I turned 17 I would DEMAND to be sent back home. Home for me meant Xamar. While I was there I never felt out of place because it was truly the CAPITAL of Somalia.

The last time I have been there is 1989. I do not see myself going back. Not because of qabiil or who is in power and etc. I can not bring myself to look the devastation in the eye. I would much rather keep in my heart and memory the Xamar I knew and loved so much.

Where you have a federal system, it is a good idea to have the capital on neutral ground, meaning not within any state or dominant population. The American District of Columbia and Brasilia in the Amazon are good examples.

Some small town or area with a water supply on the coast between Hamar and Eyl ?
