Emperor haile selassie or Kwame Nkrumah

Postby Khalid Ali » Thu Feb 16, 2012 1:11 pm

Which one deserves a statue at the African union Monument so the question the two leaders who did more for African unity and African independence The Abyssinian Emperor Haille sellesie his country only six years under Italian Colonialism Ethiopians take pride that they were never colonized and they thank Their Emperor haille sellesie who showed courage even though he lived in exile for a short period in Queen Elezabeths palace in England. He was a uniter of the Ethiopians and the habeshas and gave Ethiopia one identity the Habesha identity oromo language was forbidden during his reign. He united Ethiopia with Eritrea an italian colony at that time he was an African uniter Emperor haile selesie

Now lets compare it to Kwame Nkrumah the Ghanaian leader he was a big advocator of africanism and African unity whats ironic this man organized the first local elections in his country ghana with out the brits even aware he was a leader before he took part of the elections not only that he organized riots against british Imperialism in many of the west African country's He even won the lenin peace price in 1963 Also in the year 1963 Mr nkrumah being also the president and before that the prime minister he called for the immediate formation of a pan African Government. He became the 3rd Chairpersons of the Organisation of African Unity he was indeed a remarkable man.

Mr Kwame nkrumah

Kwame Nkurumah.

Haile Selasie was a useless King he starved his subjects while he enjoyed high life with some of the upper class corrupt shewan Amhara.

He pretends to have fought for pan africanism while infact he coraborated with the west to occupy his neighbours like Eritrea , the Ogaden and also was against Somalia gaining independence.

He was a coward that escaped the Second world war and seeked refuge in England for 8 yrs while Ethiopia needed him. He asked The pope to negotiate with Musolini so that he can be reinstated as a puppet imperial govt, When the Brits heard of this they disallowed this strategy and Its only later that the British chased out the Italians that he came back to claim a throne he cowardly abandoned.

The only reason he wanted the OUA to be in Addis was that he wanted the African countries not to change the border demarcations created by the colonialists of which he was a black colonialist hiding in a sheep's clothing. He wanted Africans to revere him yet we dont see any financial/military contribution that Haile Selasie gave to African countries that were fighting for independence. He truely was a hyena who preached water and drank wine.

Since most of the African countries did not know the real reason why Ethiopia was never colonised, they just parroted the lies Ethiopia was feeding them in the claim that they had defeated the white colonialists while facts remain that Ethiopia was created and baby seated by the white colonialists in the endevour to plunder the wealth of the natives which the Abysinians sided with the white colonialists.
