I suppose the makeshift slums in the middle of Kismaayo are also "mounds" the level of desperation some people will go to conceal
the truth Lol.

As if having the dirties beaches of Somalia wasn't enough. Many makeshift slums are distributed across various parts of of Kismaayo.

This is a city in below 3rd world society and which has not seen peace since 1991 with a clan fight just couple days. I have seen enough pictures and live videos from as recent as months ago from Hargeisa to know a picture war can reach 20 pages showing you the reality of Hargeisa too. I am just surprised at you using a Reuters picture highlighting the charcoal shipment as an example of a slum?

All I know is I would take 1 Kismaayo over 50 Hargeisa.

Kismaayo

Keep your dusty and ugly Hargeisa in the middle of nowhere and I will keep our Kismaayo RAAXO who after 22 years of war stands like that with a prosperous and shining light in front of it as a beacon of Somali cosmopolitanism in the very near future.
