Talks with the Hawiye led government is just warming up nothing substantial will come out of it , other than we agreed to talk in Turkey we agreed to continue the talks we agreed to cooperate on Trade. We agreed to fight against Piracy and international terrorism. We also agreed that erdogan government must be supported lol The talks will get interesting when a 3rd party is involved and the international mediating team set up the frame work and starts mediating than it will really get interesting and the than it will get more international coverage, other than that shimbiirooy heesa , hees wanaagsan heesa lol.
Although the fundamental disputes were discussed today but no agreement what so sever.

I thought you were in love with these talks, i remember your argument in favour of this time wasting, you laways said..wait wait wait wait. so far what I see is nothing but "Iskaashi= federalism" slowly creeping up on somaliland, by using the word "iskashi" which is basically a euphemism of federalism and integrations somaliland's people are been fooled.

Xplaya talks are good its always good although we are not making allot of progress with these talks also take in considerations this is the first time we talk to the walanweyns, i am not against talks this iskaashi Dr Bidaar always talks about is similar what we have with Djibouti Ethiopia . wa iska sheeko meesha lugu qurixnayo because arimihi xasaasiga laga war wareegeya in the beginning laakin waxa hubaal ah playa in arimihi maanta laga wada hadlay laakin heshis baan jirin. We have nothing to lose in these talks really Xplaya.

This is what the 2 sides presented today but no agreement
By Matthew Russell Lee

UNITED NATIONS, July 8 -- With events in Egypt putting Turkish diplomatic forays ever more in question, the country has gone forward with its attempts to mediated between Somalia and Somaliland.

Could this reverse things for Turkey, casting it in the role of Qatar on Darfur or Burkina Faso on Mali?

As Somaliland's Minister of Trade and International Investment, Dr. Mohamed A. Omar and Somalia's Minister of Interior and National Security, Abdikarim H. Guled met, it was Free UN Coalition for Access member Mohamoud Walaaleye who asked, obtained and sent us a document said to be the 1960 (ill-fated) union on Somalia and Somaliland.

We put it online here. But why was the UN seat not called Somali Republic? Here are the Somaliland side's points:

1. SFG should recognize that Somaliland reclaimed their independence

2. As long as discussion continues for two sides Somaliland should be allocated separate seat during international conferences concerned what was used Somalia

3. Somalia should arrest and hand to Somaliland all individuals committed crime against humanity, and given compensation

4. Somaliland should have authority of managing its airspace.

5. Getting investment for Somaliland resources.

Somalia’s five point agenda was:

1. Unity of Somalia should be abiding

2. Permit free movement of people and politicians on each side.

3. Other remaining dialogues be hold inside country

4. To hold future dialogues inside Somaliland or Somalia

5. Design standard procedure abiding for future dialogue

The UN unilaterally transferred Somaliland's airspace to Mogadishu, leading to a cancellation of UN system flights. UN envoy Nicholas Kay has been told that the new UNSOM mission should not open in Somaliland.

Meanwhile, Kay declined to confirm or deny that in Mogadishu UN Mine Action Service boss David Bax shares information with US intelligence. Kay told Inner City Press this is a question for the UN in New York, where UN Peacekeeping under Herve Ladsous refuses to answer Press questions. That is now being fought by the Free UN Coalition for Access. Watch this site.

whats the point ??? non of all these points will be agreed on?? whats the point ? is this some sort of a show off like " you see..we told them so" ? Thats how Xirsi put it, just talk for the sake of talk.

Ethopia isn't like somalia sxb, make no mistake anything you sign with somalia is federlaism , beacuse Somalia claims you are part of it.. and Ethopia is a seprate country all together.

Whats the point of even talking, each time they they state that the territorial integrity of Somalia is non-negotionable. We state that our territorial integrity is non-negotionable. It's either black or white, nothing in between. They will not deviate from their position, neither will we. It's time for the IC intervene and starts meditating between us and those walanweyns.

We have nothing to lose from talks with Somalia because we have the freedom to reject any proposal
we don't like. we may profit from this talks if it happens that Somalia concedes something we want.
The worst we can expect from this talks is if no agreement is reached and we end up wasting time
and small amount of taxpayers money on travel tickets and hotels.

Patience my friends. These talks can take 10 years. These talks are good. We are getting somewhere. We have started the negotiations. Be very patient. These talks will go slow. If you give up now, you won't get what you are seeking for. You will be back in square 1. Don't be quitters. You have waited since 1991. You can wait a few more years. Don't let this opportunity go to waste.

These talks are a very good thing. If these talks don't go further, the status quo will remain. The IC will not come into this problem. They have no reason too. They will see both sides were not swallowing their pride to negotiate. They will let the same shit keep going. They don't give a rats ass about the Somali regions. Be real.

It is in your interest to have the talks continue. If you leave these talks, Xamar will get revenue from airspace. They will take all the international aid money. Everything Somaliland is entitled to will just go to Xamar and Xamar won't give Somaliland their share if they are not agreeing to talk.

These talks are in your interest. It may be slow and painful now but in the end, it will be worth it. Be ready for even 10 years of talks.

 Timocase, I didn't say we should abandon talks on contrary I believe we should peruse them for many good reasons.
We have nothing big to lose from this talks and there is a chance we may gain some thing big we want.
I don't honestly understand the mindset of those Somalilanders who oppose any talks with Somalia, I don't understand
their concern!!
