I just got a word from back home and one of the so-called al-shabab is my second cousin.

Which one? they are all almost from the south, not that I think these men had anything to do with the fighting in Garsoor.

I don't see his name on the list, but he was definately taken a way from his house. His name is Mohamed Nuur Cawale, and he is reer Nuur Mahad.

That is what I have thought too, but as of lately, I am not so sure. Who is behind all the assissinations of the political figure and tribal elders? They definately have presence in Puntland. Since al-shabab lost Mogadishu, Puntland's security has been deteriorating. The few al-shabab sympathizers in Puntland are getting more fighters/re-inforcement from southern Somalia. They are trying to spread their barbaric, backwarded ideological indoctrination of the inpresionable Puntand youth so they can carry out suicide bombings and assassinations. The state is under attack

Al-shabab is trying to divide and conquer Puntland by trying to Put Puntland clans amongst one another. I am not suprised that the incident that took place in Garsoor started as hunt of Al-shabab members.

Puntland tribes have to reach an agreement, and they have to understand that the security of the state comes first. I hope odaayasha beelaha/Puntland authority will get together and plan massive attack eradicate al-shabab from Puntalnd. We saw what they did in southern Somalia, we can no let them come to Puntland.

They have been conducting an investigation for a while now so that is how they know they have connection to the terrorist orginazation al-shabab. They will be given a fair trail and they will go to court, so we really don't know till they are proven guilty

My cousin is only 17, and he never left Galkacyo all his life. I think it is the case of mistaken Identity. The fact that he is not in the list is wierd though. I am not saying that he can't be one of them, but as long as we know he has no links to al-shabab. If he is indeed one of them, then I think he deserves to rot in jail. There is no point in protecting criminals and terrorists whether or not they are members of your family.

As I said, the Puntland authorities has been conducting an investigation for months now. There has been several witnesses in few of the assissinations so I am sure they have been tipped. Again, we don't know if they are guilty till they are taken to court, but they are suspected to have links with al-shabab.

^^^ okay no worries. What ever the case I hope all these young men get a fair trail inshallah. Being accused of al-shabaab is a serious accusation and should be dealt with in the utmost care.

he could be part of the prisoners still being held in Galkayo..the ones in Garowe are the ones that were caught red-handed participating in the fighting..the ones left in Galkayo are still under investigation maybe that is way his name have not yet been released!!
