My mom is dhulbahante, precisely Caligeri, and her side of the family are up close and personal with Isaaq considering meeshey dhegaan. I don't want to tell my mom's whole life story but, her first marriage was to an Isaaq man who she met in xamar back in the day. She lived with him and his family in hargeisa for a while and my older brother was born. They later divorced and she moved back to xamar where she married my dad, a reer baraawe man, moved to mombasa, and i was born there. Still in contact with my brothers family who still live in hargeisa and my brothers dad and paternal grandmother (my grandmother too) love me just as much as him and my dad loves my brother just as much as me. Don't be so quick to judge a book by its cover. Many other somalis have complex qabiil lineages so it baffles me when people fight over qabiil.
