What Xamar Needs

Postby Cawar » Wed Jul 23, 2008 10:34 pm

Right now in order to make it more peaceful are 2 things IMO..

1) A Hawiye awekening..just like the Sunnis in Iraq and realize that they better get with the program..esp. The HGs.

2) A surge in the troop level(additional troops..maily habashis) in and around Mogadishu to take the fight to the insurgents,
defeat them and hold every place they kick the insurgents out.. from.
This is the best counter insurgeny strategy..and it also protects the civilians in that blessed city.

Discuss.

Abayow, the problem in Somalia is simple: Ship the Dooros back to Southern Yemen and the country will work out just fine. My two cents

oh my god cawar..
Surge !!!!!!!!

you fell for that neo-con con
this is not counter insurgency it is spin doctoring ,
its fantasy..

The surge seems to be working because the sunnis have awakened and organized into tribal groups and kicked out alqaeda and others (isreali controled sabatours responsible for the more intricate bombings and assasinations of academia and scientists).

The sunnis and the shiite groups are preparing for round 2 of the fight,
and nobody cares about US troop levels becuase everyone expects them to be gone soon.

things are quite becuase everyone is sharpening thier swords.

No I didnt. But I always was against destroying the Iraqi country by fighting with AK-47s against the Americans..which resulted in the deaths of millions of Iraqis and the desplacement or many more.

But when the Sunnis finally brokered a deal and realized that it was abt time that they participated in the re-building after Saddam..we see now how Iraq id closer to being stable.

TL, I think I know how the surge worked..and perhaps more than you do..
but if calling me an Idiot is the best you can come up..then I have nothing to say to you.

Cawar,

Are you serious about this? WOW . How do you compare the invasion of Iraq to our mess?  Do you support the invasion of Iraq?

I'm laughing b/c it seems like ( and I have noticed before too) that you seem to blame one group all the time (HG) . But thats not all, I dont really care if blame them or not. Let me ask you this, why should (assuming all the insurgents here are HG  )get with the program? Are you suggesting we should bow to what Meles says &Co demand? What makes you think the Ethio make the citizens' best interest at hand? DO you even have family in Xamar?

I'm sorry ya nuur ceeyne but you sound clueless here.

This is when I have to explain myself all over again.

The surge worked because the Sunni tribes turned against the Al Qaida terrorists like Gurey25 said. It had nothing to do with the number of troops sent to reinforce the ones who were already there. Actually, if the Sunnis would not have turned against the Al Qaida guys, there would have been more American causalities as it happened when they invaded Fallujah. Numbers don't matter. It is the circumstances that dictate everything. The surge just happened at the right time. Talk about being in the right place at the right time
