Loyalty first lies with ur country country is ur home ur identity ur land
So Somaliland youth are well attached to their country, you should teach ur children to love their country to .. no wonder they hate that country Somalia. You dont teach ur children the values of loving the land of their ancestors and the land of their heritage we teach our children love ur Somaliland.

If Somalia/Somaliland talks fail then it woudl be bad for both nations, for Somaliland it would mean the continuation of the status quo, reduced developmental aid even though the dual track policy is being implemented in Somaliland and she is receiving aid from UK and EU and America it is still not nearly as enough as what Somalia receives in foreign aid. It is bad for Somalia because now it is unclear what the legal status of Somaliland is therefore it reduces her sovereignty and legitimacy. My proposal is too have talks lead by neutral leaders on how to reconcile any issues regarding the Sool,Sanaag area and demarcate an appropriate border that pleases both sides. Or we can have a UN-sponspered tuulo by tuulo referendum on Somaliland independence and those districts that chose to stay in Somalia should be respected by Somaliland.

But I highly doubt any of these options are even being considered by both sides, president Xassan may be sympathetic to Somaliland's recognition plight but he does not have the authority or the charisma to convince parliament to allow 1/3 of the nation to secede. It is quite difficult matter and we are in an endless quagmire.

The best option for Somalia's interest is too stall the talks and prevent any parameters from being laid out so the country can effectively build up it's national security force after the withdrawal of AMISOM and the drawdown of its troops. Once the Somali National Military is capable of securing it's borders then Somaliland militia may be disarmed but we have to stall the meetings.

One problem these talks are not controlled by Somalia nor by Somaliland the international community is forcing these talks and they are mediating , so you cant stall it

Emporer, the longer these talks take place the more you lose, Somalia is quickly turning into a bastion of peace and stability, al shabab is being removed by AMISOM, Xamar is controlled by Bantus and bantu police, kismayo is controlled by bantus and their ras kambooni water boys. Bay and bakool, north gedo, hiiraan and galgaduud have heavy ethiopian presence. All these foreign troops are here temporarily they will leave once the SNA is established. Somalia is no longer in limbo, the federal govt is starting to emerge as a force to be recokened with. Somaliland's best time frame for recognition was 1993-2011 after Mogadishu stablized your bid for recognition is growing thinner and thinner. I would suggest Somaliland to pursue a hard diplomatic stance otherwise Mogadishu has all the time in the world and she is quite comfortable leaving you in limbo. If the International Community wants to see meditation Mogadisho will simply tell her that she is busy building key infrastructure and institutions we don't have time for somaliland right now she has no choice.

But thats not happening right now sl and somalia are already talking , Somalia as you want it does not exist Puntland is an autonomous state galmudug is autonomous the federal goverment doesnt control them, Somalia is a country of lose components , As long as there are foreign troops in Somalia ur sovereignty needs a double check the french just came in this morning doing their daily shoppings. Somaliland is not after aid Somaliland and Somalia aid is already divided into 2 was agreed on in the last talks that both sides get equal aid from the IC. right now Britain and Denmark give SL bilateral aid the rest need to be sorted out in the next talks. When they leave u need to establish ground forces navy forces that control. the entire country if govt in mogadisho was smart they would have used their resources and built a state from galkacyo to kenyan border but thats not happening jubbaland is being established so the resourced they could maintain the security will be in the hands of jubalanders., Somaliland is doing fine its defacto status is not harming us we get aid we get money from the west we just want to legalize our maandeeq we control our territory. And you cannot built an army unless the arms embargo is totally lifted you cant purchase modern weapons well illegally you can but legally not. Any way the talks are planned soon ur pm said it him self yesterday

The new Imam Deacon Grand made valid points.
Let say UN fair referendum is held in Sland and the non-isaaq clans choose to remain with Union, will Sland have any other option but to accept the outcome and say" ok whatever non-isaaq cities can remain with union, just recognize our cities'?

Also Sland must hurry up, Xamar is getting more peaceful, the army better disciplined and we have now a legitimate govt. Add that to revival of economy in which many clans seeks jobs to Xamar.
Its now or never.
Slanders have now reached a time where everyone stare at each other with suspicion: which one of us will flee to Xamar for political job!

By the way economic integration is good not just for Somaliland and Somalia for the entire horn Ethiopia Eritrea djibouti to we have the same fate some how, we need to work together all horn of Africa countries. Why cant some one work in mogadisho baydhabo and a person from baydhabo cannot work in hargeysa ,why cant a person from hargeysa not work in addis ababa mekele why cant a person from djibouti not work in massawa asmara why cant a person from asmara work in jigjiga and nazareth or even burco. Cooperation why do you think europe became so strong my country holland and Belgium Luxembourg cooperate on everything have the same currency juridicual system and Benelux is a union of states Holland Belgium and Luxembourg. I was new year party in Belgium partying the people speak a dutch accent called vlaanderen but belgium is not part of Holland But they work together.

True
If the talks end in recognition for Sland, all possible problems must be eliminated. It should be a wise recognition and review of the border question.

The same with unity, should isaaq choose to reunite they should get a reward such like full representation within the high ranks of the government.

Dont worry most Somaliland daaroods have an admixture of isaaqs habar lamaan the daroods of Somaliland so we some way share the same fate thats why half of them support Somaliland and the other part supports majeerteenia. and sometimes kastuumo and sometimes they defect let us worry about that imam hutuking we contain them.

Are you crazy qaldaan? You want to invite 80 million Dirty Ethios to Somaliland, Somalia for shaqo? The Oromos alone would outnumber skinnies and take all our jobs. War miyaad waalantahay?
