Hassan Alasow Gargurte (HAG) Great Day

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Thu Jan 17, 2013 8:51 pm

He was the toast of the town today ! He scored several diplomatic victories:

1. Full recognition of his government, the first post 1991 government.

2. Repudiation of the "Dual Track" Bantustani model of engagement - No more pandering to the numerous Bantustans and that the Central government will be the only
authority that the US will deal directly with.

3. Development of Bilateral ties between the two governments - No more closet diplomacy and direct ties between the central government and the US government.

The paradigm has shifted as indicated by Clinton to a permanent, nation to nation, government to government model. This will exclude the so called custodians: IGAD, AU, AMISOM, Ethiopia, Kenya. The Somali government will make its case directly to the US and propose its own agenda free of Mahiga and his ilk.

The Dual Track Policy is still in effect development wise. The USA did not say they abolished it. But overall he has made some good gains for his government today.

Siciid,

Sorry, bro but Hilary Clinton dodged the dual track question :whew: And reaffirmed the new relationship to work directly with the Central Government:

Question asked by Falastiin from VOA Somali:
QUESTION: You announced dual-track policy, which means dealing with the government and the regional administrations. So are you still going to pursue these two approaches?
...So we have moved into a normal sovereign nation-to-sovereign nation position, and we have moved into an era where we’re going to be a good partner, a steadfast partner, to Somalia as Somalia makes the decisions for its own future.

Even if the Dual Track policy is abolished by the USA it still doesn't change the fact it is a southern government his sphere of control speaking, It will be just
like Abdiqasim Salad Boy on steroids nothing to worry about.

Aw It was expected for the new government to have that extra push after all it is not transitional gov anymore, sooner or later it was bound to be taken seriously
by some countries for starter but many political battles remain this is a drop in the ocean compared to what is to come .Could be worse or for good.

Perfect_Order "we" "us" huh I am a Somalilander but of course I am glad the neighboring Somalia can finally get the help it needs to repair
Its ruined society.
