UNPOS to be shutdown in somalia

Postby sahal80 » Sat Feb 16, 2013 2:28 pm

bantu mahigas weeks are up, well done fozia.
The UN Assistant secretary-general has told the security council that the secretary-general believes that the somali government controls now a very large areas and will extend its authority across the librated areas. He sees It doesnt need guidance anymore and that the UNPOS office for somalia should be dismissed.
a new humanitarian and logistical assistance offices will be established instead soon.
The somali FM fozia haji adan addressed the council supporting ''integrated mission in mogadisho''.

There shouldn`t be a rush to the exits for the UN.
The UN has played a pivotal role in dragging Somalia out of chaos.
This Govt has still to prove its worth....there should be gradual draw down of UN operations over 2-3 years minimum.

Why rush things?
Somalia needs to learn how to walk before it can run.

There has been nothing but moryaanism for the last 20 years.
The hand over must be gradual, or we may risk all the progress made under the tutelage of Mahiga.
