Preindependence
Before the independence of 1960 somalia as a whole faced wide arrays of enemies whose missions were to capitualate and eventually colonize somalia. Upon arrival these invaders have met with fierce resistence, almost entirely from the darod tribe. Namely the ogaden and dhulbahante. When the british invaded the north to colonize it and also to christianize it the people who opposed it were from two clans, dhulbahante and ogaden. It was the darawish movement that left the britsh restless in a land they though they would capture in as little as few weeks. When the british arrived many of the isag tribes have begun to support it because they did not like darod influence on their boarders when all the sayid was doing was making sure they were not converted. All their attempts were futile because as a tribe they were very feeble in power and on top of that they didnt have the caurage.
