Jubbaland commitee invites Federal Government

The technical committee for forming an administrative region for Jubbaland has called on the Somali federal government to participate in the state-building process in Kismayo, Somalia's Garowe Online reported Thursday (March 14th).

"We are asking that the Somali federal government stand by our side and give us support," said participating traditional elder Suldan Sharif Makoma.

The Jubbaland state formation process has reached several milestones, according to technical committee director Abdiqani Abdi Jama. The 400 delegates present have agreed on a temporary three-year charter to govern the next administration, he said, indicating that the meetings will continue regardless of whether the federal government becomes involved.

Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon said the Kismayo administration's decision to start the Jubbaland conference without the federal government was unconstitutional, adding that only the federal government has the right to establish regional administrations in Somalia.

The ball is now in the FG's court. The various factions of Jubbaland have sorted out their differences and are now asking the FG to support the project.

I understand that the FG would rather place somebody they can easily control as Governor of Jubbaland but that is not feasible at the moment. Jubbaland leaders have shown to be reasonable and ready to work with the FG, will the FG choose the easy way or the path of conflict?

qoslaaye was given a govt formed by Igad and had undergone alot of phases from the time it was formed in Eldoret where Hutus refused to allow it to land in Xamar.
C/Yussuf brought it to Baidoa and hutus started wearing cimamad pretending to be wadaads.
The govt forced it way to Villa Somalia kicking the butts of hutus.Then hutus decided to use irir card and Geele invited them to irir headquaters and formed a hutu friendly govt.
Sadly this govt employed their former warlords and like a chameleon filled the vacant positions with their kins.while the militia that was used to robbing,killing,raping etc became the govt forces and with the blessing of Amisom repositioned themselves to the grounds and areas they unlawfully occupied. Corruption is the order of the day money is embezzled and when things started to get noticed Sharif was kicked out only to be replaced by his kin more vicious than him. The only noticeable national unity govt is the powerless and prone to be bribed parliamentarians and cabinet ministers.But apart from that everything else is for the junta that is in villa Somalia.
The civil servants,govt contracts etc are mostly taken by unukah leh.

So far hutus never wanted dawlad and the concept was forced on them thus they play dirty games which is oudated and the jubbaland train will not wait for them.

I think the technical committee have been overly reasonable. Especially since the HAGites have been trying to ferment conflict in Kismayo.
This is a good political move. The international community know the Govt is working with Al Shabaab in J/Land.
The news from Hudur can also work in our favour.
