So my older brother left for Africa today

Post by Voltage »

He will be in Nairobi for a week and in Gedo for 25 days, mostly in Beled-Xaawo area. He is jump-starting a pilot project he put together to use solar energy for electricity there using it to heat generators, for general electricity purposes, for cookers, etc. The company he works for (Boeing) is investing in him through a development assistance program. Do you guys have any requests I can relay to him such as for pictures or information on different aspects of civil society?

Grandpakhalif said he wants to know more about troop movements.

Seriously though, tell your bro to take mad pictures of the town and the surrounding countryside. I'd like to see the effects of the recent drought, the general landscape (the Dawwa river, mountains/hills, farmland), and the people themselves. If you're serious about leaving snet, I'll drop you an email. Stay in touch

Voltage,

Mashallah, its great to hear that your brother is doing such project. I wish him all the best and I hope he does well for his people.

I was wondering can you ask your brother to investigate about how well the agriculture is in Dawwa part of Gedo. Seeing that he is Dawwa area and going to Beled-Xaawo, can he also take pictures of Doolow and Luuq Ganaane. Also ask him, to ask around whether the people see improvement regarding the military movement and how they see Al-Shabaab lose.
