Well if u want to debate abuse language doesnt help you.Go fock yourself, bitch.JFK was popular in America and left a positive history in America while Siad Barre was a dictator who died in exile and left no agreed upon positive history.
We should no romantice Dictators/warlords, instead of discouraging and shunning them we r naming them after them places and giving them state funeral, what a pity.
JFK is actually disliked by a good chunk of conservatives in this country and his championing of the Civil Rights Bill lead to a massive overhaul of the Democratic Party where an entire voting base (Dixiecrats) are today staunch Republicans. Siad Barre is popular and loved by a section of Somalis and nationalists just like all leaders and to many he left a positive history that was destroyed by illiterate bush rebels who made our country descend to the lowest hells.
Besides, it's not like anyone will ask for your vote when it comes to whether Kismaayo will be called Siad Barre Intl or not.

I like him because under his watch Somali language was given a written script, the first time in the history of the Somali ethnic group they received their own writing. I like him because under his watch the lowest caste in Somalia was made Vice-President and no one can do anything. I like him because he built industry, he supported growth, he modernized Somalia and Somalis, because he had the strength to tell a superpower to leave his country in 24 hours while today Somalis are tossed around by Kenyans and Ethiopia, because under his watch Somalia waged war on a nation 8X its size and faced a whole communist block, because under his watch learning was taken to the desert, because he encouraged Somalis to practice self-help, because he empowered women and girls. Etc etc etc.the society who likes him like because of something he has done/stood but when ppl like because of clan linkage which destroys rational thinking i dont think that will matter
I disagree.
Garbaharrey Airport should be named after Siad Barre, seeing that he is burried there but also he joined the military by claiming to be born in Garbaharrey.
Whereas Caabudwaaq airport should be named after the first Somali pilot, Cali Mataan Haashi.
Whereas Kismaayo airport should be named after the first female Somali pilot, Asli Abaade.
Naming places should symbolise great things. And I vow to name Baardheere aiport after my Uncle Amiir Nuur
^ emotions running highI dont acre if Mr name kismayo airport after thor the son of zeus
