one of my favourite historian, he has one of the few mind that really interest me

He is the guy that kindled my interest in European history, especially the era that he referred to as "the age of empires"
he is the guy that made me appreciate the writings of marx and friedrich engels
Apart from his dogmatic view at times he is well balanced and well sourced

he definitly one of those authors work you need to read
