Kenyan soldiers 'rampage' after Garissa shooting
Breaking news

Scores of Kenyan troops have gone on the rampage, beating residents of the eastern town of Garissa, after three soldiers were shot dead by unknown gunmen.

A reporter in Garissa, near the Somali border, has told the BBC that the soldiers ordered people to evacuate a mosque before assaulting them.

The three soldiers were part of the African Union mission in Somalia.

They were killed as they were fixing a puncture on their truck, the army says.

Defence forces spokesman Cyrus Oguna said the gunmen escaped into the crowds of local residents who had gathered after the shooting.

The reporter, who is not being named for his own safety, says Garissa's main market has been set on fire.

There have been several attacks on Kenyan security personnel in Garissa, which have been blamed on the Somali militant group al-Shabab.

Garissa is mainly populated by ethnic Somali Kenyans.

Its good that you mentioned the MP, this is exellent time to see what kinda of politician and person he is. I doubt he will do much for the innocent somalis but we will see.

I am positive that the local MP, Aden Duale, will move quickly to condemn the security forces. However he is not the Minister of Defense, Yusuf Haji who is also an MP of Ijara district which is part of Garissa county.

Aden Duale has criticized the security forces and questioned the costs of going into Somalia from insecurity to tension.

It seems like the KDF has taken a note from EDF's Destroy Cagdheer hand book.
