Men have more advantage

Postby Leila2007 » Sat Jan 26, 2008 3:50 pm

I have been thinking lately and I have realised that men have a better chance to succed careerwise than women irrespective of eductional level. The reason I am saying this is because you graduate from college with a good degree and work and get promoted and before you get to where you want to be (management / Seniour mnagement) you have to start having a family.

Have 2-3 kids will take a maximum of upto 10 years before they are school going age and everytime you return to work after months off you have to start again and you need flexible hours and all that. Not all employers are happy with this so your chances of even more promotion and progression is slow...

So to all my brother you guys have a chance of not only getthing educated to PH levels but and opportunity to progress into all sorts of levels. Dont waste this opportunity and take it for granted.

Well a woman doesn't have to have kids and if she does she could have just one.

This is also a bigger problem in the US. in many European countries they have plans to help women and men with young children keep a career while caring for young children.

Yep men have an advantage. But i'm an old skool guy, i'd prefer my wife to stay at home and run the family structure. I would even argue that the female working is counter productive. But in todays world, the females cant afford not to work.

Razz

In europe it is the same. Yes they have to some extent some help in place but it comes back to employers and most of them dont like the fact that you keep having time off for more kids.

They can frustrate you to a point you just quit. Plus a career at the top needs constant working , training and development within work place.

helwaa
