Siilaanyo: the last great Somali historian

Postby whitehartlane » Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:22 am

First of al ilahay waxaan ka baryay in janatul fardawsa uu ka waraabiyo marxuum boqor adeer madaxweyne cabdulahi yusuf axmad...

I would like to officially express my feelings towards siilaanyo's much respected tacsi, some people may ask, why only him and not sheikh shariif... Well it's simple I don't trust anything that comes out of the mouth of madaxweyne sharif and also the simple fact that he doesn't command the respect siilaanyo does..

Somalidu way isdagaasha wayna heshiiyaan, unfortunately there are some of his policies that I don't understand or disagree with, such as somalilands independence and the claim of the British made Borders or the current war against dhulbahante.. However I honestly believe the man is A MAN OF PEACE..
Siilaanyo is a man of steel, history, knowledge and somalinimo..

He is one of the last remaining Somali (not somalilands) gurus if not the last that have accomplished some exceptional achievements, and for that he has my deepest respect.

On the passing of boqor cabdulahi yusuf, I asked myself, what is the most unfortunate about his death..
horta death is a must and must come to all, the man was an elderly and was awfully sick, so I don't regret his death, however i believe his passing would have been fitting of he left a book about Ethiopia.. Titled itoobiya.. Afterall the man has died with a great knowledge that should have been in writing.. Yes there is his recent book, but that is not enough, this man died a some cilmi that not many possess in terms of our next door neighbour..

Siilaanyo:

With adeers passing i realised how short we are in written first hand experienced history..siilaanyo is Is the last remaining great Somali historian, and I hope sincerely he leaves several books behind one on ethiopia, one on the independence of somalia Syl aid nfd Ogaden region, a book on the kacaanka, and lastly one one somaliland and her quest for independence and her return..

Viva siilaanyo last Somali guru... May Allah lead you to the right path..

Ps. Walahi I am emotional and very sad, so I am allowed this..

^ actually, i know what he means and have no problem with it. siilaanyo is one of the few old schoolers remaining and he should write as many books as possible before the angel of death starts knocking at his door.
